I live in Walthamstow in East London, the home of E17 ‘Everybody in the house of love’ and all that. Born and lived in Derbyshire until I was 18 when I packed my bags and headed for the city. I’ve lived all over the place thanks to work but put down roots in the glorious Stow 12 years ago and really wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. If you’ve read my blog you will no doubt notice that I am a big fan of Walthamstow, I think it’s a pretty unique place with an amazing community. I live with my partner Eddie who is originally from Ireland but also found himself in London and moved to E17 shortly after we met.
This sounds daftt but I like doing things that scare me, or should I say I like doing things that I don’t think I will be able to do. I ran a half marathon for the first time in 2012 which for a former fat kid felt really good. This blog is part of that process, I failed English at School partly due to dyslexia that wasnt identified and partly because I was a crap student. For a long time I hated people seeing anything I had written, but at the age of 35 I decided to terrify my self a little bit more and start blogging. I know my punctuation is all over the place, and if it wasn’t for spell check you probably wouldn’t understand a word, but I really enjoy writing about the area I live and the people I meet.
I worked as a stage manager for a long time which involved among other things dressing up as an Orangutang and running around London parks with a musical saw thanks to the London Bubble Theatre company, I loved working in Theatre but ended up having no life so decided to go for a career change. Along the way though I had some great jobs including working for a circus so if you ever need a tent putting up I’m your man. I now work in ticketing, an industry in which I really enjoy working.
So that’s me, a running, writing, pub loving proud and happy E17’er. For more ramblings find me on Twitter @billtix.
